The project consists in single carriageway road starting from Bidbid ? Sur Road near Bidiya and passing near Shuqqat Shawqab and Al Hiwiyah villages and linking Al Ashkharah ? Shannah Coastal road near Qahid village on the Arabian Sea Coast. The length of the project is about 160 km. The proposed road passes through Rimal Al A?Sharqiyah area, generally following the existing flat track, crossing medium to very high sand dunes, and serves one populated village along the road. The task for carrying out the design was challenging as the track experiences formation of high sand dunes and dust winds.
